RIFT Top Fan Has Played Over 2700 Hours

RIFT developer Trion Worlds and guild site hosting service Guild Launch recently teamed up to hold a contest for the MMORPG. The objective was to find the game's biggest fan. A few weeks ago they announced the winner: Sonoko Suzuki of the Wolfsbane shard.

"There were many impressive contenders,” said Stephen Johnston, CEO of Guild Launch, "but Sonoko’s game achievements really blew us away."

Sonoko has racked up over 2,700 hours of playtime on his main character, which comes out to over 112 days. He was the first player in the world to complete the Colossal Victory, an Achievement for participating in every zone event, and Ultimate Hunter, an Achievement for killing 105 rare mobs. He also has over 12,000 platinum in the bank.

As the first-prize winner, Sonoko will receive a free one-year subscription to the game. He'll also get an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 video card. The nine runners-up were each given six months of game time.

Each player entering the contest submitted a short essay detailing their in-game accomplishments, along with in-game video clips and screenshots. The Guild Launch community then voted on submissions to narrow them down to a Top 10 list. Guild Launch and Trion then selected Sonoko from that list.

Voters themselves were able to win a variety of prizes as well. An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570, SteelSeries Siberia V2 headsets, and one-year subscriptions to Guild Launch's premium services were given away to randomly selected voters.
